- Wi-Fi QR codes are static: the password is encoded in the pattern, so a printed code cannot be changed or tracked.
- Change the Wi-Fi password and you need to generate and reprint the code.
- Anyone who can see the code can join the network — use a guest network for public spaces.

- Do Wi-Fi QR codes work on iPhone and Android?
- Yes. Both platforms read Wi-Fi QR codes with the built-in camera app on current versions and show a prompt to join the network. Very old devices may need a QR scanner app.
- Is the Wi-Fi password encrypted in the code?
- No. The password is stored as plain text inside the QR code, so treat the printed code as you would a written password and prefer a separate guest network.
- Which security type should I choose?
- Choose WPA/WPA2 for almost every modern router, WEP only for legacy equipment, and open for networks with no password.
- Can I track how many guests scan it?
- Not with a Wi-Fi code — it connects the device directly and never passes through QRPogo. Scan tracking is available on dynamic QR codes that point at a web address.
- Does the code expire?
- No. Static QR codes never expire and there are no scan limits.
